juicy tomato + hummus tartines

Serves: 4 slices
  • 4 slices of sprouted grain bread*
  • 1 large ripe tomato, thinly sliced
  • 4 tbsp. hummus
  • salt + pepper
  • small basil leaves to garnish
* I used Ezekiel sprouted grain bread with sesame seeds. Sourdough would be nice as well.
  1. For the bread, you can either toast it lightly or leave it plain.
  2. Spread the hummus evenly onto each piece of bread.
  3. Top with 1-2 slices of tomato.
  4. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  5. Garnish with basil leaves to taste.
