Ā Saveur-Badge

Everything tingled.

I must’ve read that email 10 times.

Chills traveled from my toes all the wayĀ up to my head.

Is this for real?

Saveur Magazine holds their annual Blog Awards each Spring. FinalistsĀ are nominated by you, the reader. There are a variety of categories to choose from including,Ā Best Food Blog, Best Writing, Best Photography etc. Voting is public; anyone can participate (wink wink).

I confess: I thought about asking you to nominate me, but I didn’t. I felt awkward.

It’s like getting up in front of a huge crowd, making a speech and no one claps… or telling a bad joke… or explaining some great story followed up with ‘you had to be there…’

How do you ask for support without sounding desperate?

But the cat’s out of the bag now…

I’ve been chosen as a finalist forĀ BEST FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY!

I read that congratulatory email until theĀ linesĀ blurred. The room was 8 million degrees. I called my husband to tell him the good news and I could barely even form a sentence; it was like I had a novocaine shot or something (drool included).

The last time I was nominated for anything was inĀ the 6th grade, and that was a band award OK?

I can’t thank you enough.

It’s because of you- your comments, support and loyalty- that I have arrived at this place.Ā My camera is just aĀ vehicle.

I’m incredibly humbled to be a finalist amongst the other talented artists in this category, no matter what the outcome might be. This has surpassed my wildest dreams.

And I would love to earn your support.

Please click the image below to cast your vote!

(scroll till you find Best Photography and click onĀ the Asparagus Photo! That’s me!)

Don’t forget to tell your friends…
