… is what they say when you’re on hold, waiting.
Earlier this week my blog went down.
I was typing away when my computer screen turned bright white. Out of nowhere. Blank.
What the heck happened?!
A fatal error message appeared (did they have to say fatal?) and then panic set in.
I couldn’t fix it.
Hours went by… 24 turned into 48.
I will spare you the boring technical talk, but the problem had to be outsourced. Eventually, we went live. The root cause is still unknown. Will it happen again? Maybe. Technical difficulties are very common in internet land and at some point or another we’ve all experienced frustration, whether you’re a blogger or just trying to buy some shoes! The hardest part (for me) is understanding. It’s not like a recipe that I can attempt to correct- this is language I don’t speak. Therefore I am dependent. Which sucks.
Two days after going live, I couldn’t even look at my blog. I didn’t want to touch a thing. I was too afraid that something terrible would happen again. Today’s post was supposed to be a new recipe, but it went on the back burner. I wanted to acknowledge this first.
So, we have now come full circle. You had to wait. Thank you for your patience. I mean it 100%.
I’ll be back on Monday with something delicious. ♥

I’m the same. I haven’t got a clue how things on The Internet work. I only know I want it to work for me. I want to thank you for all your beautiful photos and recipe xoxo

What a nightmare! I recently got a virus, on my MAC no less! I know that feeling of complete panic and dread. Glad it’s all good now.

Really?! I’m on a MAC as well ;) I am so sorry to hear that. Trust me when I tell you, I can totally relate! I feel helpless when situations like this arise. You want it to be fixed instantly but that is never the case. I’m glad that you were able to identify the problem and sort out whatever needed to be fixed. It gets the best of us doesn’t it… :)

Oh my, not to worry. These things happen, and they happen more often with some hosting companies. For example. Network Solutions , which used to be the top of the line, is now just mediocre, at best. I left them and went to another company about a year ago after countless hours and days of downtime. I have every confidence that your readers understand, and that they have endured downtime themselves. Such is life in the modern world.

Hi Adri! Your email was perfect- thank you so much. I’m going to investigate the details and think about the next step. Technology is SO not my thing… It’s good to have trusted advice xx

No worries.
You’re not a bank. You’re not the power company.
If you miss a day or a week, that’s a slight pout from this reader because I miss some luxury.
Though if you miss a week or more, some wondering if you’re OK.
But basically, no worries.

Awww, thank you. That really means a lot. I’m pretty sure no one even noticed this hiccup anyway, but I felt too odd not addressing it. Your encouragement is very much appreciated! Have a wonderful day! :)
